What to do with all the time in the world!

That is the problem I constantly face since the passing of my wife. I try to keep myself busy with work (which I love) but I can only do that for so many hours in a day. I used to have a lot of hobbies, but I don't really feel any joy in doing any of them anymore. I spend a lot of time watching TV, and doing different educational learning projects.

Next week I will start trying to move my life forward (at least from an educational perspective). I will be starting a new Masters in Data Science Program at the University of Pittsburgh. I never did finish my MBA and now I feel that I would prefer a more technical degree versus a general business and finance degree. The program looks amazing and I can't wait to get started. In the meantime I'm brushing up on Python yet again in preparation for the upcoming course.

I also start two courses at the University of Chicago next week. One is a graduate program dedicated to the Great Books over a 4 year period. I'm pretty excited about this as I haven't read books in a long time and I feel like my brain has been getting rusty. I am starting with the Winter session which will focus on Herodotus the Histories, The Oresteia by Aeschylus, and Nicomachean Ethics by Aristotle.

The other course I am taking at the University of Chicago is a graduate course on The Brothers Karmazov. I have never read the book before, but obviously I have heard of it. I am looking forward to reading it in detail and having in depth socratic conversations with my classmates about the novel. It is supposed to be complex and amazing and I could use something other than TV and doing nothing in my life right now.

It is my hope that by continuing my work with Five Star Transportation, while finishing a Masters Degree in Data Science, combined with taking socratic courses on amazing books and novels, this will help me with my depression and get me to move forward with my life again. I'm also working on a game changing pool league with Jason Hunt from a business perspective, as well as working with my daughter on our technology consulting firm.

I really hope to start playing pool again someday. I miss it. For now, I will just fill my time with education, making money, and creating new applications and projects. More to come soon.
